October 24, 2025: Sharia Execution Courts Open on Fridays and Saturdays to Serve Citizens in Urgent Cases
In a step aimed at facilitating citizens’ needs and expediting the processing of Sharia-related judicial transactions, His Eminence the Chief Islamic Justice, Sheikh Abdul Hafiz Nahhar Al-Rabta, announced that Sharia Execution Courts in Jordan will begin receiving visitors on Fridays and Saturdays starting tomorrow. This initiative seeks to address urgent judicial execution cases and ensure the smooth handling of citizens’ affairs across the Kingdom’s governorates.
His Eminence explained that one Sharia Execution Court in the center of each governorate has been designated to operate during weekends on behalf of all other execution courts within the same governorate, ensuring prompt service and timely completion of urgent transactions.
Sheikh Al-Rabta emphasized that this step reflects the Department of the Chief Islamic Justice’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency and continuity of its services throughout the week. The goal is to provide services with the highest levels of flexibility and quality, thereby ensuring citizens’ comfort and saving them time and effort.
He also noted that the Department has provided the Judicial Execution Directorate at the Public Security Directorate with the contact numbers of on-duty heads of execution and enforcement officers for this weekend, to ensure effective coordination and rapid response to any urgent cases.
Citizens can view the list of on-duty Sharia Execution Courts in each governorate through the official website of the Department of the Chief Islamic Justice, to identify the nearest operating court and its working hours during the weekend.
